Message to Membership Regarding COVID

Dear CAPLA Members:

CAPLA, like all organizations, is actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we’re assessing our activities, policies, and operations in response to this risk. Our responses are guided by the best information available as well as a commitment to protecting individual and public health.

At this time, we are following the guidance of the health experts at the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. This means that scheduled professional development seminars, events, and activities which ordinarily involved personal interaction with other members will be canceled or rescheduled until further notice.

Committee Meetings

It is the intention of CAPLA to continue with scheduled Committee meetings via teleconference.  Dial in numbers will be provided to Committee members to participate in conference calls.

Should the status of any of these activities change because of the COVID-19 situation, we will ensure all members are informed. If CAPLA is compelled to cancel or reschedule any of these activities or events, those who have registered will receive full refunds.

Stay Safe!

It is important to remain vigilant and do everything possible to minimize potential spread. These tips are likely not new to you, but as a reminder, it is recommended that you should:

  • Practice good hygiene, such as frequent hand-washing
  • Stay at home if you feel ill
  • Monitor your health closely if you have travelled outside the country, and self-isolate at the first sign of any symptoms

I encourage you to rely on reputable sources, such as the Government of Canada website and Government of Alberta website, for more information, and wish you good health.

Sincerely,

Mike Flynn
